Release the Reality
Birthmothers and Adoptive parents don’t often like to hear what I have to say. I guess hearing what could possibly happen to their child is frightening. I don’t blame them. If I saw some future experiences of mine, I would be frightened too.

Adoption Comittee Now In Session
See I have these adoption yahoo’s who sit at a table in my head and when I get tired, run down or just having a plain old bad day - they start to chatter like squirrels in an argument over nuts. No, it is not schizophrenia – thank you very much. It is more like a bunch of people arguing their point; who I have affectionately named: Rejection, Abandonment, and Sabotage, Unworthy, Confused, Identity, and Betrayed.

V is for Victor
For many years I blamed being adopted for my DNA makeup. My eyes are brown…because I am adopted. I react like that…because I am adopted. I attract people like that…because I am adopted. I am not financial responsible…because I am adopted. I am not worthy…because I am adopted. Constantly pointing the index finger at adoption as the curse and not looking at the 3 fingers of victim-hood pointing right back at me.

Dude...I have the experience!
When people first meet me they go into a bit of judgment, shock and adjustment. I look as though I am in my early thirties [thank you God] and am immediately sized up about how I could have enough life experience to be a Life/Leadership Coach. How could I - in my short life - have enough understanding to grant me the abilities to Coach someone through life?

Harmony Through Conflict
When I was three years old, my adoptive mother was holding me as we stood in line at the grocery store. A gentleman in front of us turned and said what a pretty little girl I was…I then replied with, “no I’m not…I’m adopted.”

When Friends Die
For me it started several years ago with a phone call. My childhood best friend was killed in a car accident due to her own alcohol and drugs issues.

Balance...Have you ever surfed?
When I was learning to surf, the most challenging part was finding my balance on the board. I tried a 8’5”, a 7’, a 5’ and would literally fall off the board just paddling out. It seemed the shorter the board the harder time I had. Considering I am only 5’2”, it really challenged my mind frame. The shorter the board, the better the balance. Right? Not!

Ready, Set, GOAL!
Whenever you want to make a change in your life, the purpose behind your goal is more important than the goal itself.
